Key Responsibilities:
- Test Automation Development and Maintenance: Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, API, and integration testing. Follow established automation framework standards, create reusable test components, and ensure test assets remain aligned with application changes.
- Test Analysis and Execution: Review user stories and acceptance criteria to identify test scenarios, coverage requirements, and test data needs. Execute manual and automated tests and document test results with clear and accurate evidence.
- Defect Management and Quality Reporting: Identify and log reproducible defects with appropriate severity, priority, and supporting details. Retest defect fixes, participate in root cause analysis discussions, and provide accurate updates on testing progress, defect status, and overall quality.
- CI/CD and Test Environment Support: Integrate automated tests into established CI/CD pipelines and monitor test execution results. Troubleshoot automation script and environment-related failures and support reliable test execution across different environments.
- Agile Collaboration and Continuous Learning: Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Collaborate effectively with developers, product teams, and senior Quality Engineers while following established coding and testing standards. Continuously enhance automation, domain knowledge, and quality engineering skills.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering, including exposure to test automation within an Agile environment.
- No specific license is required; foundational training in software testing or test automation is acceptable.
- Foundational knowledge of software testing concepts, SDLC, STLC, and the defect lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with at least one test automation tool or framework, such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or an equivalent.
- Basic programming or scripting skills in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C#, or a comparable programming language.
- Ability to create and maintain clear test cases, test data, and automated test scripts.
- Working knowledge of API testing and experience with tools such as Postman or an equivalent API testing tool.
- Familiarity with source control, defect tracking, and work management tools.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage assigned priorities, learn quickly, and deliver quality work with guidance in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Coursework or formal training in software testing, programming, or test automation.
- Experience testing web applications, APIs, or service-based systems.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification or a relevant automation or cloud certification.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools and automated test execution within software delivery pipelines.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques.
- Familiarity with Git, Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent development and work-tracking tools.
- Exposure to cloud platforms, accessibility testing, performance testing, mobile testing, or observability tools.
- Awareness of AI-assisted testing tools and the responsible use of AI-generated test assets.
