Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement architecture for next-generation data pipelines and business intelligence solutions.
- Develop and deliver high-quality data architecture and pipelines to meet the needs of business analysts, data scientists, and customer reporting.
- Collaborate with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from diverse data sources.
- Continuously enhance reporting and analysis processes, focusing on automation and simplified self-service support for customers.
- As a WWGS Data & Analytics Data Engineer, you will address a diverse array of technical challenges.
- You will work closely with Software Engineers, Data Engineers, Business Intelligence Engineers, Analysts, Product Managers, and Program Managers both within and outside the team.
- You will transform large, complex datasets into automated and easily digestible analytic solutions.
- You will play an active role in translating business requirements into actionable systems and prototype concepts, in partnership with Amazon and technology leaders across the organization.
- You will design, develop, and deploy reliable distributed solutions that meet Amazon’s scalability requirements.
- You will work with a range of core languages and technologies, including SQL, Python, Scala, and AWS services.
- You will tackle unique and novel challenges each day, with the opportunity to redefine industry standards.
- You will collaborate with various teams across Amazon and WWGS Data & Analytics.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative/technical field, such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Engineering.
- 1+ years of experience in data engineering.
- Strong experience in designing, implementing, and managing data processing systems for large datasets.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Java, Scala, or Python.
- Advanced expertise in SQL with hands-on experience.
- Solid understanding of data management fundamentals and principles of data storage.
- Proficiency in distributed systems, particularly in the context of data storage and cloud computing.
Preferred Skills:
- Proven ability to independently manage and deliver end-to-end projects.
- Relevant experience in fields like Data Engineering, Database Engineering, Business Intelligence, or Business Analytics.
- Documented success in implementing robust big data solutions.
- Proficiency in both batch and real-time data processing systems.
- Strong understanding of software development practices throughout the development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations.
