Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain subject matter expertise in your specialization to effectively handle core tasks and escalations.
- Educate users on responsible Airbnb usage, ensuring security and safety practices are followed.
- Investigate complex situations and potential fraud within high-volume queues.
- Collaborate with operational leads and cross-functional teams to develop and improve internal policies, tools, and automation processes.
- Analyze risk systems and investigate account patterns to detect suspicious activity.
- Escalate trends or product vulnerabilities to the Product Support team when identified.
- Ensure strict confidentiality during investigations and maintain comprehensive documentation of findings.
- Build and sustain a thorough understanding of your specialization’s goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with external product vendors to enhance proactive and reactive risk detection efforts.
- Exhibit sound judgment and share your knowledge openly with others.
Eligibility Criteria:
- 1-2 years of experience in risk management, fraud prevention, chargeback handling, or risk operations.
- Availability for a regular 5-day work schedule (40 hours per week), mutually agreed upon with your lead, which may include weekends and public holidays. Shifts may involve evening, night, or early morning hours.
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to assist the community with tact and diplomacy. Ability to balance fraud prevention with delivering a positive customer experience.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with rapidly shifting priorities.
- Solution- and outcome-oriented approach.
- Strong investigative skills, proficiency in internet research, and keen organizational and analytical abilities.
- Ability to detect vulnerabilities in new and existing products or features, and anticipate evolving fraudulent behaviors.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, with the ability to multitask and quickly learn new technologies.
- Ability to stay calm and prioritize in time-sensitive situations, responding to the needs of users and cross-functional teams effectively.
- Capacity to maintain objectivity and impartiality during fact-based investigations, especially in sensitive cases involving users.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness when conducting investigations, with the ability to identify data patterns and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and an effective communicator both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, and organize work with changing priorities.
- Fluency in another language is a plus.
- 2-4 years of experience in a similar role, either at Airbnb or elsewhere.
