Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement new features and enhancements for Azure Storage services to support new hardware designs, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
- Develop new features for the storage performance measurement and analysis platform.
Debug and troubleshoot complex issues across multiple software components that impede the integration of new hardware technologies. - Analyze large-scale performance measurement data to identify software or hardware bottlenecks.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and customers to gather requirements, provide feedback, and deliver solutions. - Document and communicate the software’s design and architecture.
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), guiding other engineers by developing and following a playbook, monitoring systems/products/services for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status, and initiating actions to restore functionality for both simple and complex problems as appropriate.
- Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to emerging trends, technical solutions, and patterns to enhance the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline with proven experience in coding languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Equivalent professional experience in software development and coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
Preferred skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 1+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR a Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.
- Proficiency with RESTful APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and data structures.
- Knowledge of systems programming, operating systems, distributed systems, databases, and cloud services, including high-performance distributed storage and networking.
