Key Responsibilities:
- Develop medium to complex schematic symbols.
- Generate medium to complex footprints.
- Adhere to quality assurance (QA) guidelines to ensure the accuracy of parts.
- Participate in all ECAD activities, including duplicate checks, technical analysis, and part validation using datasheets and manufacturer websites.
- Collaborate effectively with requestors, peers, supervisors, and other engineering teams.
- Assist design engineering in identifying and qualifying electrical, electromechanical, and mechanical components, proposing suitable alternatives for obsolete, not recommended for new design (NRND), and discontinued part numbers.
- Work towards meeting Voice of Customer (VOC) requirements by closely collaborating with product management.
- Utilize engineering change tools such as DFR, Altium, Allegro, presentation tools like PowerPoint, and analytic tools such as Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrate value creation, productivity enhancement, and continuous improvement.
- Plan own work based on organizational priorities with guidance from supervisors.
- Facilitate team participation in knowledge sharing on technologies and products, fostering innovation and product suggestions.
- Aid in optimizing existing products through continuous improvement efforts.
- Assist the Advanced Engineering Team with ECAD and electronic component requests.
- Maintain library databases.
- Provide support for part validation, classification, and ECAD creation for various requests.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic & Communication Engineering.
Preferred skills:
- Familiarity with EDA CAD tools, particularly Cadence or Altium.
- Understanding of basic electronic circuits and both electronic and mechanical components.
- Proficiency in internet research to locate datasheets, footprints, and 3D models.
- Familiarity with 3D mechanical software is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of IPC-7351 standards.
- Competence in maintaining Excel spreadsheets.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated capacity for self-motivation and effective workload prioritization.
- Understanding of electronic component types, footprints, symbols, and relevant standards.
