Key Responsibilities:
- Support data analysis of existing processes and datasets to aid in the design of the Point of Arrival (POA) process.
- Assist in identifying portfolios, data elements, and the level of data granularity required for process design.
- Collaborate with the team to review data scenarios and provide clarification on reporting these scenarios in alignment with regulatory guidance.
- Contribute to identifying business requirements, functional design, prototyping, testing, training, and implementation support.
- Assist in developing functional requirement documents (FRDs) and process-specific design documentation to meet process and report owner needs.
- Document and understand key components of solution architecture, including data patterns, data-related capabilities, and the standardization and conformance of disparate datasets.
- Support the implementation of master and reference data to ensure consistency across operational and reporting processes.
- Participate in daily meetings with implementation groups (pods) responsible for data sourcing, regulatory classification, and reporting for various company portfolios.
- Coordinate with Product Owners, Process Owners, Subject Matter Experts, Solution Architects, and the Data Management team to ensure builds align with American Express product requirements.
- Participate in user acceptance testing, parallel run testing, and other required testing to verify that builds meet specified requirements, including the development and execution of test cases and documentation of results.
- Assist in the development of executable testing algorithms to validate expected system functionality, including replication of deterministic logic and filtering criteria.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Strong experience in SQL and data analysis.
- Hands-on experience in product/platform understanding and process design.
- Knowledge of Financial Data Warehouse and reporting solutions such as ODS, AxiomSL, OFSAA, and Hadoop concepts.
- Skilled in data analytics and data profiling.
- Proficient in creating source-to-target (S2T) and functional designs.
- Experienced in creating data mappings, analyzing system of record (SOR) data, and implementing data quality rules to identify issues in SORs.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Power Query.
- Experienced in testing management and execution.
- Foundational knowledge of data warehousing principles and data modeling (preferred).
- Training in Agile methodology (preferred).
- Experience in financial reporting or accounting (preferred).
- Understanding of banking products (preferred).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet or exceed critical deadlines.
- Proactive self-starter and team player with a passion for delivering high-quality service and exceeding customer expectations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify and communicate complex concepts across finance, business, and technology stakeholders.
- Strong relationship-building, presentation, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of U.S. regulatory reports such as Y-9C, Y-14, Y-15, 2052a, among others.
- Exposure to data analysis and testing of financial data domains to support regulatory and analytical needs for large-scale banking or financial organizations.
- Experience in developing testing automation capabilities.
- Experience with cloud technologies and capabilities.
