Key Responsibilities:
Data Engineering & Platform Support:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and validating data from multiple source systems.
- Support data transformation activities using SQL and Python while adhering to established engineering standards and best practices.
- Perform data quality checks, reconciliation activities, and basic troubleshooting to identify and resolve data-related issues.
- Contribute to the documentation of data pipelines, table structures, data definitions, and other engineering artifacts.
Learning & Engineering Practices:
- Learn and apply modern data engineering concepts, including ELT/ETL processes, version control practices, and CI/CD fundamentals.
- Follow organizational data engineering standards related to naming conventions, data modeling, coding practices, and quality assurance.
- Gain hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms, including Snowflake and Azure data services.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance technical skills and engineering expertise.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate with senior data engineers, analysts, and product owners to understand business needs and technical requirements.
- Support Agile team activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and key learnings effectively with mentors, stakeholders, and team members.
Data Governance & Compliance:
- Adhere to data governance policies, security standards, and access control requirements to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Assist in implementing data validation rules, audit mechanisms, and control checks to support enterprise and financial data management standards.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Required Skills:
- Possesses fundamental knowledge of SQL, including SELECT statements, JOIN operations, and basic aggregations.
- Demonstrates basic programming proficiency in Python or a similar programming language.
- Has an understanding of relational database concepts, including tables, keys, and data types.
- Familiarity with data engineering or data analytics concepts is considered an added advantage.
- Exhibits a strong willingness to learn, adapt, and incorporate feedback effectively.
- Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.
- Has exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) through academic coursework or projects.
- Basic familiarity with Snowflake, Apache Spark, or data integration tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF) is advantageous but not required.
- Experience working on academic or personal projects involving databases or data pipelines is preferred.
- Demonstrates an interest in finance-related or enterprise data domains.
