Key Responsibilities:
- Perform data analytics to support multiple workstreams within Financial Crime Risk (FCR) in a dynamic regulatory environment using SQL and Python.
- Analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data to derive meaningful business insights.
- Identify data and process gaps, collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement remediation measures, and manage issues across Amex systems to mitigate potential risks.
- Monitor the KYC/KYB health of Cardmember and Legal Entity portfolios by designing and maintaining dashboards using Tableau or Power BI.
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies to optimize Anti-Money Laundering (AML) risk management and improve customer experience.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Technology, and PMO teams to define AML risk strategies and ensure alignment with the regulatory framework for respective markets.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or Engineering is preferred.
- 0–2 years of relevant work experience in data analysis or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
- Hands-on experience with analytical tools such as SQL, Hive, Python, R, or LUMI.
- Proven ability to solve unstructured problems using data-driven approaches.
- Strong process orientation with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and keen attention to detail.
- High level of drive and commitment with the ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-driven environment while managing competing priorities.
- Quick learner with the ability to grasp new concepts and technologies independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of credit risk strategies and/or the payments industry is an added advantage.
