Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Financial and Legal Entity Controllers to prepare and review financial statements across various JP Morgan legal entities and global regions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to investigate, escalate, and resolve exceptions in the general ledger and other interfacing systems, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial and risk management systems.
- Perform monthly general ledger reconciliation and substantiation processes in accordance with internal controls and reporting standards.
- Comply with regulatory reporting requirements during the month-end close and reporting processes.
- Validate and maintain the accuracy of reference data related to account hierarchies.
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) for system implementations, changes, and other business initiatives to ensure smooth transitions and compliance with business needs.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- Foundational understanding of industry standards and regulations, including US GAAP and/or IFRS standards.
- Strong accounting and finance skills with the ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
- Good knowledge of investment banking products such as securities, derivatives, and related instruments.
- Ability to comprehend data flows and understand their impact across the general ledger, risk management systems (RMS), and reporting systems, including interrelationships and dependencies.
Preferred Skills:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA with at least 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in a controller function.
- Ability to understand business drivers and requirements, and effectively influence stakeholders to deliver solutions that address business challenges.
