Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end-to-end engineering solutions for Machine Learning on a large scale.
- Incorporate data science solutions into tangible products effectively.
- Develop efficient and high-quality code capable of functioning at Wal-Mart’s scale.
- Operationalize ML models and address all challenges related to model management.
- Implement parallelization of algorithms/model training to leverage distributed infrastructure and significantly reduce training time.
- Embrace Wal-Mart’s quality standards and establish process standards and best practices within the retail industry.
- Research, learn, and incorporate new technologies to address challenges and enhance existing solutions.
- Engage in events aimed at fostering innovative solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy advanced solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers globally and extracting value from data at Walmart’s scale.
- Collaborate with data science groups across Walmart to comprehend their primary engineering challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Identify appropriate open-source tools to deliver product features through research, proof of concept (POC)/Pilot, and engagement with various open-source forums.
- Deploy and monitor products on Cloud platforms efficiently.
- Advocate for and uphold company policies, procedures, mission, values, and ethical standards with integrity.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and translate them into data science algorithms effectively.
- Proficient knowledge in various core Machine Learning areas such as Forecasting, Classification, Data/Text Mining, NLP, Decision Trees, Adaptive Decision Algorithms, Random Forest, Search Algorithms, Neural Networks, and Deep Learning Algorithms.
- Experience in statistical learning including Predictive & Prescriptive Analytics, Web Analytics, Parametric and Non-parametric models, Regression, Time Series, Dynamic/Causal Model, Statistical Learning, Guided Decisions, and Topic Modeling.
- Proficiency in big data analytics, with the capability to identify trends, patterns, and outliers within large datasets.
- Strong expertise in one or more programming languages such as Python and R.
- Strong proficiency with big data platforms including Hadoop (Hive, Pig, Map Reduce, HQL, Scala).
- Experience working with Teradata, SQL, relational databases, and data warehouses.
Preferred skills:
- Possession of domain knowledge in one or more divisions within the Retail industry.
- Publication of papers or delivery of talks in reputable academic and research journals.
- Publication of papers or presentations in Data Science Forums.
- Holding patents related to data science.
- Experience working with data warehouse platforms, particularly NoSQL databases such as Cassandra.
- Experience utilizing GPU/CUDA for computational efficiency.
