Key Responsibilities:
- Develop production-ready software that delivers meaningful impact to Stripe.
- Provide and receive technical feedback through code reviews and design discussions.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to proactively gather and incorporate feedback.
- Learn quickly by asking thoughtful questions, working effectively with managers and teammates, and clearly communicating project progress and status.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Strong foundational knowledge of computer science through a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Basic programming experience through academic coursework, personal projects, or other practical experience, with familiarity in languages such as Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, or Go.
- Experience working on internships, collaborative projects, or open-source contributions, with the ability to receive and incorporate feedback from mentors, peers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar systems independently and develop a strong understanding through research, mentorship, and collaboration with subject-matter experts.
Preferred Skills:
- At least two years of university education or equivalent professional experience.
- Specialized knowledge in one or more technical areas, along with a broad understanding of software systems and technologies.
- Experience creating high-quality pull requests with comprehensive test coverage and the ability to deliver projects with minimal defects.
- Familiarity with navigating, understanding, and managing work across new and complex codebases involving multiple programming languages.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical work to stakeholders, team members, and colleagues.
