Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong understanding of AXP’s core business model and the key drivers influencing strategic and operational decisions.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to generate actionable business insights and design innovative, data-driven solutions.
- Leverage the closed-loop capabilities of the American Express network to enable more intelligent, relevant, and informed decision-making.
- Drive innovation by developing and implementing advanced analytics solutions using big data and machine learning techniques.
- Clearly articulate and structure business insights across prospect and customer domains for effective communication with leadership and key stakeholders.
- Maintain a strong external perspective by staying informed about emerging trends and developments in finance, payments, analytics, and related domains.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Possess an MBA or a master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Have 0–30 months of hands-on experience in analytics and big data–driven workstreams.
- Demonstrate the ability to drive project deliverables effectively to achieve measurable business outcomes.
- Exhibit the ability to work collaboratively and productively in a team-oriented environment.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrate innovative problem-solving skills with the ability to learn quickly and independently manage complex, unstructured initiatives.
- Show the ability to collaborate and integrate effectively with cross-functional business partners across global teams.
- Have working knowledge of analytical and programming tools such as SAS, R, Python, Hive, Spark, and SQL.
- Possess a solid understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, including active learning, transfer learning, neural networks, decision trees, reinforcement learning, graphical models, Gaussian processes, Bayesian methods, MapReduce techniques, and feature (attribute) engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrate expertise in coding, algorithm design, and high-performance computing concepts.
