Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Google Cloud’s data analytics platforms (e.g., BigQuery) and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, and identifying the root causes of customer-reported issues.
- Build tools and processes to enhance diagnostic efficiency and accelerate issue resolution.
- Serve as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders, including engineering, sales, and customer organizations, to address technical deployment challenges and optimize Google Cloud solutions.
- Collaborate with a global team of engineers and consultants to provide round-the-clock customer support, which may require working non-standard hours or weekends.
- Analyze customer issues, advocate for their needs with internal product and engineering teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality production outcomes.
- Partner with customers to resolve issues in production databases and help achieve product readiness, scalability, and optimal availability.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or an equivalent field, or possess equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in two or more of the following areas: web technologies, data/big data, SQL, BigQuery, systems administration, machine learning, networking, Kubernetes, Oracle, or SAP.
- Proficiency in coding with one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Java, C, C++, Python, Shell, Go, or JavaScript, along with experience in virtualization and orchestration frameworks.
- Hands-on experience working with Linux/Unix or other operating systems, including aspects such as Kernel to Shell, file systems, and client-server protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in data analytics, data warehousing, ETL development, data science, or other big data applications.
- Knowledge of SQL database administration, open-source software ecosystems, cloud networking solutions, or distributed computing environments.
- Proven experience working in a dynamic, cross-functional organization with extensive collaboration across teams.
- Experience providing technical consulting on database design and architecture for large enterprise customers with high SLO and SLA requirements.
- Strong experience in debugging and developing distributed applications or microservices within cloud-based environments such as Docker or Kubernetes.
