Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with Operations teams and Financial Controllers across different J.P. Morgan legal entities and geographies.
- Collaborate with various teams to research, escalate, and resolve exceptions in the general ledger and other interfacing systems in a timely manner to ensure the integrity of ledger and risk management systems.
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliations between product systems and the general ledger.
- Carry out monthly general ledger attestation.
- Adhere to regulatory reporting requirements when performing reporting and month-end close processes.
- Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of reference data for account hierarchies.
- Participate in user acceptance testing during system implementations, changes, and other business initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
- Basic knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including US GAAP and/or IFRS Standards.
- Ability to build strong partnerships across various stakeholder groups both at the onshore location and within Mumbai, supported by proactive and effective communication skills.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, eager to learn, resourceful under pressure, and willing to take accountability.
Preferred Skills:
- Postgraduate degree with a minimum of one year of relevant experience (Controller experience preferred).
- Ability to understand data flows and their impacts across the ledger, RMS, and reporting systems, along with awareness of interrelationships and dependencies.
- Good knowledge of investment banking products such as securities and derivatives.
- Ability to understand business drivers and requirements and to influence partners to deliver solutions to business problems.
