Key Responsibilities:
- Develop scripts and programs to automate the collection of metadata for data cataloging and data lineage tracking.
- Build and integrate APIs to extract metadata from cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Support the ingestion of metadata into data governance tools such as Collibra or Alation.
- Assist in developing connectors or services to enable metadata and governance automation.
- Contribute to the development of tools or dashboards for monitoring data governance KPIs.
- Document technical processes and contribute to internal knowledge bases and documentation repositories.
- Collaborate with data stewards, architects, and data engineering teams to extract, transform, and load metadata using custom connectors or APIs.
- Develop and maintain data lineage models to ensure accurate end-to-end traceability of data across systems.
- Perform enterprise data asset cataloging to enhance metadata enrichment and classification.
- Support the onboarding of new data sources and contribute to the enterprise metadata strategy and roadmap.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Document integration patterns, data flow diagrams, and metadata models to support audit and compliance requirements.
- Monitor and ensure the accuracy and quality of metadata, enabling automated data discovery and profiling.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to classify data, maintain consistent data definitions, identify critical and sensitive data, support data sourcing and usage requests, and drive standardization, usability, and change management across data products and capabilities.
- Address data management business requirements and support related initiatives as needed.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Final-year student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Good understanding of REST APIs and hands-on experience in consuming or building API integrations.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Strong programming skills in Python or Java for scripting metadata integration tasks.
- Basic knowledge of databases, including both SQL and NoSQL, along with a foundational understanding of data structures.
Preferred Skills:
- Eagerness to learn and understand data governance concepts such as data cataloging, data lineage, and metadata management.
- Exposure to data quality tools and governance workflows, particularly in platforms like Collibra or Alation.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities.
