Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in monitoring, analyzing, and reporting cloud expenditures across multiple public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization efforts related to cloud services.
- Collaborate with engineering and finance teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and implement effective chargeback mechanisms.
- Identify inefficiencies in cloud resource usage and provide actionable recommendations for cost savings.
- Assist in automating cost reporting and financial analysis using cloud-native tools and FinOps platforms.
- Conduct research and stay current with evolving cloud pricing models, available discounts (e.g., reserved instances, savings plans), and other cost-saving opportunities.
- Contribute to FinOps governance by ensuring adherence to cloud financial policies and industry best practices.
- Work closely with stakeholders to promote cost transparency and educate teams on effective cloud cost management strategies.
- Gain exposure to purchase order (PO) management, invoice payments, and cloud provider billing processes.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and expand responsibilities in alignment with evolving program goals and business needs.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Have foundational experience using cloud cost management tools such as Cloudability, CloudHealth, or AWS Cost Explorer.
- Exposure to scripting languages like Python and SQL for performing data analysis and automation tasks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting processes, and IT cost management principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts and familiarity with public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Experience in developing enterprise dashboards, reporting tools, and alerting mechanisms is considered a plus.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in areas such as Public Cloud Management, FinOps practices, and cloud cost optimization strategies.
- Familiarity with additional cloud service providers such as IBM Cloud is an added advantage.
