Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accuracy and validity of line of business general ledger accounts in compliance with firmwide General Ledger Reconciliation & Substantiation (GLRS) standards.
- Maintain adherence to Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet controls under Financial Control, while identifying and implementing process improvements for enhanced efficiency.
- Analyze material variances between the general ledger and upstream systems, effectively communicate findings, and resolve discrepancies in alignment with line of business expectations.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in desktop applications, spreadsheets, and database tools.
- Exhibit excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Have a foundational understanding of securities and derivative products.
- Comfortable interacting and collaborating with business and risk management teams.
- Capable of building and sustaining partnerships with product-aligned businesses, as well as corporate finance, treasury, and accounting teams.
- Able to understand key business drivers and requirements, and effectively influence middle and front office teams to develop practical solutions for business challenges.
- Showcase strong analytical skills, with the ability to quickly grasp the functionality of complex processing and general ledger systems, including their interdependencies.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and impactful information delivery.
Preferred Skills:
- Able to manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Capable of critically challenging processes with the intent to identify and mitigate control risks.
- Existing relationships or networks within the Investment Banking (IB) community of the firm would be considered an advantage.
