Key Responsibilities:
- Apply strong engineering skills to develop a flexible, highly scalable data gathering platform.
- Produce high-quality, testable code that aligns with team coding standards and design practices.
- Break down tasks effectively and provide accurate time estimations.
- Take ownership of your changes throughout the development lifecycle, from development to production and beyond.
- Participate actively in code reviews to ensure code quality and alignment with standards.
- Mentor and support junior team members, including assisting with code reviews and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Contribute to the growth and advancement of the Gather Platform by exploring and promoting new techniques, technologies, and tools.
- Tackle high-scale challenges, with opportunities to learn and grow by collaborating with experienced engineers.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Extensive experience in developing systems and products using Java.
- Strong understanding of web technologies.
- Proven experience in building scalable platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud-based technologies and development processes.
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passionate about delivering high-quality software.
- Pragmatic approach with a strong desire to learn and adapt to new skills.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities.
- Proficient in both Low-Level Design (LLD) and High-Level Design (HLD).
Preferred skills:
- Knowledge of web data gathering and related challenges.
- Experience in building cloud-based services, particularly on Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
- Proficiency with containerization tools, especially Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, particularly using Terraform.
- Data analysis and SQL skills.
- Familiarity with TypeScript.
