Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Emerging Systems Lab/Telecom Systems Research (ESL/TSR) within Intel Labs, engaging closely with Intel product groups, industry partners, consortia, and the academic community to drive technological advancements and business impacts.
  • Conduct research and prototype innovative network or edge workloads, such as 5G Private Networks and 5G telecom infrastructure, focusing on transitioning current networking infrastructure to high-volume Intel Architecture (IA) based platforms. This involves utilizing software-defined networking (SDN) and network-functions (NFs) in virtualized or containerized orchestrated Cloud Native environments on IA platforms.
  • Seek a highly motivated software engineer and developer to collaborate with the research team in investigating, applying, and developing cutting-edge AI/ML optimizations. This includes addressing areas like energy efficiency of networks and optimal resource allocation to meet user service level agreements.
  • Take on responsibilities such as analyzing, designing, and prototyping various aspects of research, workloads, and system features. Additionally, collaborate with both internal and external partners to evaluate and implement advanced networking system designs and workloads.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and Linux, with a solid understanding of system software.
  • Strong familiarity with AI/ML tools and technology, enabling effective utilization in various projects.
  • Knowledgeable about network architecture and protocols, enhancing the understanding of networking systems.
  • Experience or understanding of network or 5G cellular network architecture is advantageous.
  • Capable of analyzing resource utilization issues within systems and proposing enhancements to optimize performance, including energy efficiency and throughput, in scalable and distributed systems.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous technical environments, showcasing adaptability and problem-solving skills.
  • Education/Experience: Currently pursuing a graduate degree, preferably a PhD candidate in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
