Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with extensive, intricate datasets, resolving challenging non-routine analysis issues, and employing advanced problem-solving techniques when necessary.
- Conduct thorough analyses, encompassing data collection, requirement specification, processing, ongoing deliverables, and presentations.
- Formulate business recommendations (e.g., cost-benefit analyses, forecasting, experiment analysis), presenting findings effectively to stakeholders at various levels through visual representations of quantitative data.
- Research and devise analytical approaches, forecasts, and optimization methods to enhance the quality of Google’s user-facing products, such as ads quality, search quality, end-user behavioral modeling, and live experiments.
- Contribute to the conceptualization, support, and refinement of new data-driven and privacy-preserving advertising and marketing products in collaboration with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.
- Innovate methods that integrate large-scale experimentation, statistical-econometric analysis, machine learning, and social-science methodologies to address business inquiries on a comprehensive scale.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Possession of a Master’s degree or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Operations Research, Physics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant internship or work background involving data analysis, coupled with experience in quantitative methodologies, including statistical and causal inference methods.
- Proficiency in statistical software such as R, Python, S-Plus, SAS, or equivalent platforms.
Preferred skills:
- Proficiency in statistical data analysis techniques such as linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, and sampling methods.
- Experience in machine learning applied to extensive datasets.
- Ability to derive actionable insights from data and provide recommendations.
- Capability to impart knowledge to others and acquire new techniques, such as differential privacy.
- Capacity to select appropriate statistical tools for addressing data analysis challenges.
