Key Responsibilities for Financial Analyst:

  • Offer assistance in cost and project accounting, ensuring accurate expense allocation for the generation of high-quality financial reports.
  • Support the Financial Planning team through research and assistance in expense-related matters.
  • Collaborate in the timely preparation of monthly reports and variance analyses, identifying key focus areas for management with a moderate level of guidance from direct managers and/or senior team members.
  • Foster positive working relationships with other teams in Business Planning to ensure effective collaboration across the organization.
  • Contribute to the development of new reporting solutions and the identification of key focus areas for management.
  • Implement best practices for improving current processes and reporting, with a focus on standardizing activities across business planning to optimize efficiency.

Key Responsibilities for Financial Data Analyst:

  • Analyze financial statements and data provided by Issuers to contribute significantly to the ratings and research process.
  • Utilize accounting and finance knowledge to perform financial statement analysis, adjust reported data according to relevant methodology requirements, and review and analyze ratios.
  • Research and collect data related to industry, operating environment, and issuers from external sources and Moody’s internal tools, organizing the data into databases, peer tables, and charts to support the rating and research process.
  • Review and comprehend financial and operational metrics, as well as other relevant documents and statements.
  • Collaborate directly with ratings and support analysts to explain data, adjustments, and other information essential for the rating team’s work in ratings and research.
  • Regularly engage with Moody’s ratings analysts to provide the necessary financial and operational data for analysis and publications.
  • Receive ongoing training and interact with Analysts to facilitate knowledge transfer and support career growth within the team.
  • Explore a unique opportunity within the FDA position to develop skills that are valuable for future careers in the financial services industry.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Possess an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or another quantitative field.
  • Hold a postgraduate degree, with preferences for specializations in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.

Preferred skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, with a strong emphasis on Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, etc.
  • Preferably possess knowledge or prior experience in analyzing financial statements.
  • A plus to have knowledge or prior experience in accounting.
  • Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and meet demands.
