Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of discrete credit process inputs, conduct preliminary analyses to identify data trends, and apply reasoning to the finished work product.
- Use accounting and finance principles to read and understand financial statements and other disclosures related to the performance of debt issuers.
- Adjust financial data in accordance with Moody’s relevant methodology standards and requirements.
- Create a variety of standard initial work package items, such as data, spreadsheets, charts, and tables, to serve as the starting point for the ratings and research process.
- Financial spreadsheets, charts, and tables should be updated.
- Recognize trends in data and apply reasoning to completed work.
- When necessary, initiate/escalate deeper reviews.
- Prepare materials for presentations for outreach activities.
- Assist RRS and R&R in monitoring and surveillance of Moody’s rated issuers.
- Support the monitoring of analyst credit portfolios by tracking news and industry sources and highlighting key issues that require further investigation.
- Understand how to apply accounting concepts to a specific entity.
- Produce documentation and offer guidance to analysts and outsourcers.
- Data should be reviewed, adjusted, and published to external market participants.
- As directed by the RRS and R&R Teams, assist with the credit administration process and perform other routine administrative and ad hoc tasks.

The Role:
- The Associate helps the Research and Ratings Support team succeed by providing a variety of data and analytic services that support the overall credit analysis functions performed by the MIS analytic teams.
- Under the supervision of the RRS and R&R teams, this internal facing role is part of the team that works directly with rating and research support analysts, prepares data and various discrete pieces of analytical work such as spreading, data gathering and analysis for credit ratings, research analytical market outreach and presentations.
- At key intervals, this role provides opportunities to take on additional responsibilities.
- Candidates must have a strong accounting background with a strong focus on financial analysis.
- They must demonstrate their ability to work effectively in a team setting with matrix reporting.
- The ideal candidate for this position will have strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a desire to work in a collaborative team environment.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A graduate/degree is required. A postgraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics is preferred.
- Work experience in credit, financial research and analysis is preferred.
- Accounting background is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Capability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritise tasks accordingly.
