Key Responsibilities:

  • Recognize the competency proficiency role mapping for yourself.
  • Solicit performance feedback and use it to identify skill gaps in the role’s remit.
  • Inform the home manager of any concerns about the responsibilities assumed in an engagement.
  • Assist team members in articulating project expectations, and provide guidance and supervision to ensure that the defined tasks are completed.
  • Actively participate in responding to requests for assistance.
  • Proactively engage with members to understand their issues and direct them to community knowledge centres.
  • Make wise and practical commitments when taking on engineering responsibilities.
  • Highlight any dependencies, risks, or bottlenecks that may have an impact on your commitments.
  • Make every effort to honour and deliver on your commitments.
  • Proactively seek feedback from peers and managers.
  • When peers request it, provide reviews and feedback.
  • When appropriate, collaborate with managers to develop an improvement plan.
  • Recognize the metrics that are important for benchmarking various activities.
  • Recognize the impact of metrics on the customer’s business outcomes.
  • Learn how metrics are mapped and tracked in the Cognizant system.
  • Understand enablement objectives and be able to explain them to team members.
  • Determine the team’s enablement requirements.
  • Create a strategy and processes for identifying and closing competency gaps at the community level.

  • Make a plan to close individual role competency gaps and work toward it.

Operating efficiently:

  • Maintain a current skill profile and resume.
  • Manage a roster of interview panellists from your team, ensuring that nominations are load balanced and individual constraints are met.
  • Prepare a knowledge base for providing engagement-related induction to new engineering community members.
  • Extend assistance to new community members in settling into their new roles, including logistical assistance as needed.
  • Hold yourself accountable for resolving any conflicts in a transparent and fair manner during the performance management process.
  • Operationalize community-specific performance management processes.
  • Keep track of the Rewards and Recognition process, rewards awarded, and work with the operations team to make any necessary changes.
  • Motivate leaders and managers to appropriately and timely reward associates Update resumes in HCM and ensure skill profiles in MyCareerApp are up to date.
  • Mentor your teams to keep the skill profile up to date and to bring newly acquired skills and abilities to the attention of their home manager.
  • Talent profiling is used to benchmark the given associate within the Community.

Engineering Mindshare:

  • Find ideas that can be turned into reusable assets.
  • Contribute to the development of reusable assets.
  • Contribute to white papers under supervision.
  • Contribute to experience papers with supervision.
  • Contribute to case studies under supervision.

Preferred skills:

  • SQL
