Key Responsibilities:
1. Power BI Development and Data Modeling
- Requirement Gathering: Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and effective analytical workflows.
- Data Connectivity: Connect Power BI directly to enterprise data sources, including SQL databases, cloud data warehouses, and APIs.
- Data Modeling: Design efficient and optimized data models using Star or Snowflake schemas and establish appropriate table relationships.
- DAX & Power Query: Develop high-performing DAX queries, calculations, and measures, and perform complex data transformation and cleansing using Power Query.
- Dashboard Design: Create intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing dashboards that effectively communicate insights through clear data storytelling.
2. Power BI Platform Administration
- Workspace & Deployment: Set up and manage Power BI workspaces, application publishing pipelines, and deployment environments.
- Access Control & Security: Configure Row-Level Security (RLS) and manage workspace permissions, user access, and report-sharing settings.
- Gateway & Refresh Management: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot on-premises and cloud data gateways and automated data refresh schedules.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor report and dataset performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve refresh failures and other performance-related issues.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Professional Experience: Possess 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in developing, managing, and administering Power BI environments.
- Strong SQL Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries, including joins, aggregations, and subqueries, for data extraction and manipulation.
- Cloud Databases: Have experience connecting to and querying modern cloud database platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure SQL, BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift.
- Power BI Fundamentals: Have strong knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, data gateways, and advanced DAX measures.
- Analytical Reasoning: Demonstrate strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to clarify requirements and develop effective analytical solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Microsoft Fabric & GCP: Have exposure to Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake and Lakehouses, and experience querying data in Google Cloud Platform using BigQuery.
- Certifications & Tools: Possess a Microsoft PL-300 certification or have basic knowledge of Power Platform tools such as Power Apps and Power Automate.
