Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data capabilities and infrastructure to support the Sustainable Technology Internal Data Lake.
  • Develop and manage data pipelines, data transfer processes, and compliance-focused infrastructure to enable seamless data integration across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Identify gaps and improvement opportunities in data capabilities and infrastructure, and provide technical expertise to implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Work with large and complex datasets while ensuring high standards of data quality, accuracy, and performance.
  • Design and implement data transformation, integration, and validation processes to support analytics, business intelligence, and reporting requirements.
  • Optimize and enhance data pipelines to improve processing speed, reliability, scalability, and overall efficiency.
  • Implement best practices for data storage, retrieval, backup, and archival to ensure secure, reliable, and accessible data management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues by performing root cause analysis and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes, data lineage, workflows, and technical specifications.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure compliance with coding standards, best practices, and quality guidelines.
  • Partner with DevOps teams to automate the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of data pipelines and related infrastructure.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and project-related tasks as assigned by the organization.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or in a similar data-focused role.
  • Strong knowledge of data engineering concepts, including ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in data integration methodologies and data quality management practices.
  • Hands-on experience with data technologies such as Databricks, Apache Spark, Python, SQL, Hadoop, and Airflow.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, including AWS and Microsoft Azure.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative and efficient data solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and work independently as well as within geographically distributed teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and perform Proof of Concepts (POCs) to evaluate and recommend optimal solutions.
  • Flexibility to work effectively in a matrix-based, diverse, and globally distributed project environment.

Required Skills:

  • 0.6 to 1.5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or related projects.
  • Hands-on experience delivering end-to-end Data Engineering or Data Warehousing projects in Big Data environments.
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using Apache Spark with Scala, Python, or Java in Databricks or Hadoop environments.
  • Proficiency in working with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle, along with strong SQL programming skills.
  • Experience automating data pipeline workflows in Big Data environments using Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working within Agile development teams.
