Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement software features and enhancements for the AutoQuote application across backend services, data pipelines, and service integrations.
- Build, maintain, and optimize data processing workflows using Prefect, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, and REST APIs within a cloud-native microservices architecture.
- Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code that adheres to coding standards and successfully passes CI/CD quality checks.
- Utilize AI tools, including Large Language Models (LLMs) such as Claude, Gemini, and GPT, along with AI coding assistants to accelerate development, generate code, validate solutions, and solve complex engineering challenges.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions by providing technical insights, analysis, and well-informed recommendations.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, and quality assurance teams to translate business requirements into scalable, reliable, and testable software solutions.
- Conduct code reviews for junior engineers and provide constructive technical guidance to ensure code quality and best practices.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues while contributing to system reliability, stability, and overall operational excellence.
- Stay up to date with emerging AI technologies, cloud-native development tools, software engineering best practices, and industry trends.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in software engineering with the ability to independently develop and deliver moderately complex software features.
- Strong proficiency in Python, along with working knowledge of additional programming languages or frameworks as required.
- Experience in building and maintaining data pipelines using workflow orchestration tools such as Prefect, Airflow, or similar platforms, along with cloud-based data services.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS), including cloud storage, serverless computing, and managed cloud services.
- Proven experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini to accelerate software development, troubleshoot issues, and improve code quality and productivity.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile software development practices.
- Working knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker, with familiarity in Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience designing and developing scalable microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks or cloud-managed AI services such as Google Cloud Vertex AI, AWS Bedrock, or LangChain.
- Knowledge of prompt engineering, Large Language Model (LLM) integration, or agentic workflow design.
- Prior experience working in an enterprise-level product engineering environment.
