Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and optimize Scientific Computing environments, including Linux/RedHat systems, HPC clusters, and scheduling platforms.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks using Ansible, Python, Bash, and Git to streamline administration, monitoring, and reporting processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, system access, and operational issues in a timely manner.
- Apply ITIL processes, including Incident, Change, and Problem Management, in daily operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing workflows and recommend innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and user experience.
- Support system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening activities with minimal service disruption.
- Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables.
- Provide day-to-day production support by resolving user incidents, service requests, and monitoring alerts/events.
- Analyze incidents and implement improvements to enhance resolution quality and operational performance.
- Perform incident categorization, classification, root cause analysis, and trend analysis for critical and recurring issues.
- Create and update knowledge management documentation based on incident analysis and resolutions.
- Participate in Agile development activities to deliver service fixes, enhancements, and improvements.
- Apply DevOps tools, practices, and mindset in daily operational and development activities.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate within globally distributed teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs.
Eligibility Criteria:
- 0–1 year of experience in IT environments with exposure to Linux, Windows, and Unix servers, along with development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Linux/RedHat system administration, including installation, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with scheduler platform installation, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting in heterogeneous Linux and Windows environments.
- Understanding of automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Git, Bash, and Python.
- Good understanding of compute resource management, including CPU, GPU, memory, storage, and licensing.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes such as Incident, Change, Problem, and Service Management; ITIL certification is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose, reproduce, and resolve complex technical issues independently.
- Familiarity with VMware tools, HPC engineering applications, and server architecture concepts.
- Awareness of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in globally distributed teams.
