Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable client-side and server-side components.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve customer-reported defects and production issues related to Tableau products within defined timelines.
- Triage and address basic, well-defined work items and customer issues with appropriate guidance and supervision.
- Utilize AI-powered tools throughout the lifecycle of work items to improve efficiency and quality.
- Analyze product log files, crash dumps, network traces, and other diagnostic data to identify issues and root causes.
- Write high-quality code for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes, along with automated tests, while adhering to established coding, quality, and engineering best practices.
- Develop a strong understanding of how assigned modules integrate and function within the broader product architecture.
- Continuously learn and apply new technologies, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate within a hybrid engineering model, working closely with product managers, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to define technical requirements and specifications.
- Continuously improve individual work practices by making incremental improvements in each sprint.
- Clearly document steps to reproduce issues, root cause analysis (RCA) findings, and proposed or implemented solutions.
- Track, log, and provide timely status updates on assigned work items and deliverables.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and dependencies transparently with mentors and senior engineers.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Zero to two years of relevant software development experience with strong working proficiency in C++ (C++17 or later) or Java (Java 17 or later).
- Working knowledge of additional programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or C# is considered a plus.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, development paradigms, and best practices, with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and code quality.
- Good understanding of system architecture concepts, design patterns, multithreading, concurrency, queues, locks, scheduling, event-driven architectures, workload distribution, and both relational and non-relational database systems.
- Strong grasp of object-oriented programming concepts and principles.
- Working knowledge of debugging techniques and performance optimization methodologies.
- Familiarity with relational databases and the ability to write efficient SQL queries.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and modern software engineering practices, including coding standards, source code management (SCM), continuous integration (CI), build processes, testing, and operational support.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working on enterprise-level SaaS products and deploying services on public cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure.
- Exposure to large-scale distributed systems, including microservices architectures, containerization, orchestration platforms, and distributed computing frameworks.
- Experience with data processing, data transformation, and analytical technologies.
- Demonstrated contributions to personal projects, hackathons, or open-source repositories (for example, a GitHub portfolio).
