Key Responsibilities:
- Review documentation for various entity types, including corporations, charities, and individuals, in accordance with KYC/CDD policies and jurisdictional requirements, and request additional information or documents as needed.
- Conduct due diligence checks and highlight any procedural deficiencies or documentation gaps.
- Review beneficial ownership (BO) and key controllers in line with internal policies, and perform screening for sanctions and adverse media.
- Complete reviews efficiently and within established timelines.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the due diligence process.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure that all process and procedural updates are incorporated into the due diligence workflow.
- Analyze evidence from various tools and systems to assess the legitimacy of customer behavior across multiple financial products.
- Assist in monitoring and tracking incidents to ensure resolution within the agreed customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Address routine problems by referring to established precedents and general guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A university Graduate with a relevant academic background.
- Experience in back-office operations, compliance, investigations, AML/KYC processes, audit reviews, and/or account reviews.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and possesses strong internet and digital literacy skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong comprehension abilities.
- Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in AML and KYC functions, particularly in customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes within fintech or e-commerce environments.
- Strong analytical skills and prior experience in AML investigations.
- Experience conducting periodic KYC reviews, including verification of due diligence completeness.
- Familiarity with client onboarding checks and verification of legal entity status through regulatory and official registry websites.
- Understanding of various entity types and ownership structures, including but not limited to charities, PIVs, SPVs, banks and financial institutions, private and public companies (listed and unlisted), and collective investment schemes (CIS).
- Ability to perform detailed investigations related to adverse/negative media and transaction monitoring/surveillance.
- Capable of independently researching, analyzing, and recommending solutions to resolve open items and discrepancies.
- Knowledge of AML/KYC controls, including front-end systems, applications, data sources, and backend compliance mechanisms.
- Experience in sanction screening, KYC verification, and document validation including identity documents, bank details, and company registries.
- Strong investigative and analytical skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Thorough understanding of AML/KYC terminology and regulatory expectations.
- Hands-on experience with compliance tools and systems such as Actimize, RDC, Fortent, Norkom, LexisNexis, Bridger XG, Siebel, and Dow Jones.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
