Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and cloud service providers to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Identify pain points, opportunities, and areas for improvement in business processes related to cloud adoption and financial management.
- Translate business needs into actionable technical requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
2. Cloud Cost Optimization (FinOps)
- Work closely with cloud engineers and finance teams to monitor cloud spending, analyze cost drivers, and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Assist in developing cloud budgets, forecasts, and cost allocation models to ensure transparency and accountability across teams.
- Create dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for cloud cost efficiency and utilization.
- Promote FinOps best practices and advocate for cost-effective cloud usage throughout the organization.
3. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Perform data analysis to generate insights on cloud usage patterns, trends, and potential risks.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear reports, visualizations, and presentations.
- Support decision-making by delivering actionable insights related to cloud services, costs, and business outcomes.
4. Process Improvement
- Evaluate existing processes related to cloud resource management, procurement, and billing, and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with teams to implement automation tools and workflows that enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Stay informed about emerging cloud trends, tools, and technologies to suggest innovative solutions.
5. Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Educate internal teams on cloud cost management practices and FinOps principles.
- Act as a subject matter expert in cloud financial management, providing guidance and support to stakeholders.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
- Demonstrates proven experience as a Business Analyst, with knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and familiarity with FinOps principles.
- Possesses a strong understanding of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and associated billing mechanisms.
- Is proficient in analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to deliver actionable insights.
- Has familiarity with FinOps tools and practices, such as AWS Cost Explorer or Azure Cost Management.
- Displays excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Exhibits strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Holds a FinOps certification (e.g., FinOps Certified Practitioner) or relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals.
- Has experience implementing cost allocation tagging strategies and chargeback models.
- Understands DevOps practices and their relationship to cloud financial management.
- Is knowledgeable in using data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau and possesses advanced Excel skills.
