Key Responsibilities:
- Propose and develop new kinematic mechanisms while considering design constraints, performance requirements, and business objectives.
- Analyze CAD assembly data (CATIA product) to determine the appropriate type of joints and connections for multibody simulation (MBS) modeling.
- Evaluate trade-offs between the complexity of the MBS model and the development time to optimize efficiency.
- Create hard points for joints and connections, including their locations and orientations, using CATIA.
- Develop stick models to study and understand the kinematics of the given mechanisms.
- Build detailed MBS models incorporating elements such as friction, contacts, springs, forces, and constraints.
- Perform necessary pre-processing and post-processing steps for flexible body creation, including mesh clean-up, ASET node definition, interpretation of EIGEN values, and MNF generation.
- Conduct clearance and clash prediction, design of experiments (DoE), sensitivity studies, failure case analysis, and stiffness correlation between physical tests and MBS models.
- Calculate forces, torques, translational and angular displacements, and range of motion using MBS simulations.
- Correlate MBS simulation results with physical test data when required to validate models.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Basic knowledge of aircraft architecture and flight loads.
- Good understanding of movable mechanical systems in an aircraft, such as doors, landing gears, and control surfaces.
- Strong knowledge of connections, kinematic joints, their degrees of freedom (DOFs), couplers, and gear systems.
- Solid understanding of methodologies for kinematic design of mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience in the design and analysis of mechanisms, including both kinematic and dynamic aspects.
- Good understanding of creating flexible bodies for multibody simulation (MBS), including SOL 103 and MNF file generation.
- Basic knowledge of meshing techniques.
- Ability to understand, create, and modify Python scripts; object-oriented programming (OOP) skills would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills.
- Experience with co-simulation using MSC Adams would be an added advantage.
