Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer SQL Server databases across multiple product lifecycle environments, ranging from development and testing to mission-critical production systems.
- Configure, maintain, and monitor database servers and related processes to ensure optimal system health, performance, availability, reliability, and security.
- Optimize and automate routine database processes, track and resolve issues, and maintain comprehensive documentation of system changes to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Provide 24×7 support for critical production database systems, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and minimizing system downtime.
- Share domain and technical expertise by providing guidance, technical mentorship, and cross-training to peers and other team members.
Eligibility Criteria:
- 1–3 years of experience in SQL Server 2008, 2012, or later versions, with hands-on experience in database administration within an enterprise environment involving multiple database servers.
- Strong knowledge of database architecture, administration, and management.
- Good understanding of incident and problem management processes and queue management.
- Strong knowledge of database backup, restore, and recovery models.
- Experience working with Linux, Windows, and Unix servers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a flexible, collaborative, and results-oriented environment.
- Ability to work independently on SOP-based activities with minimal or no direct supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively switch between different activities, priorities, and teams.
- Basic knowledge of ITIL Foundation principles, Continual Service Improvement (CSI), and Total Quality Management (TQM).
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of scripting and automation.
- Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, and T-SQL.
- Experience supporting Logical Database Administrator (DBA) activities.
- MCTS, MCITP, and/or Microsoft MVP certifications are an added advantage.
