Key Responsibilities:
Data Engineering & Platform Support:
- Assisted in building and maintaining data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and validating data from various source systems.
- Supported data transformation processes using SQL and Python in alignment with established engineering standards.
- Performed data quality checks, reconciliation processes, and basic troubleshooting of data-related issues.
- Contributed to documenting data pipelines, table definitions, and other engineering artifacts.
Learning & Engineering Practices:
- Learned and applied modern data engineering practices, including ELT/ETL pipelines, version control, and CI/CD fundamentals.
- Adhered to enterprise data engineering standards for naming conventions, data modeling, and code quality as defined by the team.
- Gained hands-on exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and Azure-based data services.
- Participated in code reviews and technical walkthroughs as part of continuous learning.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborated with senior data engineers, analysts, and product owners to understand business and technical requirements.
- Supported Agile team activities, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.
- Communicated progress, challenges, and learnings clearly to mentors and team members.
Data Governance & Compliance:
- Learned and adhered to data governance, security, and access control standards.
- Assisted in implementing data validation processes, audit columns, and control checks for enterprise and finance data.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The candidate should be an undergraduate or a recent graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Skills (Basic / Foundational)
- The candidate should have fundamental knowledge of SQL, including SELECT statements, JOIN operations, and basic aggregations.
- The candidate should possess basic programming knowledge in Python or a similar programming language.
- The candidate should have a clear understanding of relational databases and core data concepts such as tables, keys, and data types.
- Familiarity with basic data engineering or data analytics concepts will be considered an added advantage.
- The candidate should demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and the ability to accept feedback constructively.
- The candidate should possess good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The candidate should have clear written and verbal communication skills.
- The candidate should be able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP through academic coursework or projects is preferred.
- Basic familiarity with tools such as Snowflake, Apache Spark, or data integration tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory) will be an advantage, but is not mandatory.
- The candidate should have experience working on academic or personal projects involving data pipelines or databases.
- An interest in finance or enterprise data domains is desirable.
