Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong understanding of AXP’s core business model and the key drivers influencing strategic and operational decisions.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to generate actionable business insights and design innovative, data-driven solutions.
- Leverage the closed-loop capabilities of the American Express network to enable more intelligent, relevant, and informed decision-making.
- Drive innovation by developing and applying advanced big data and machine learning–based approaches to solve business problems.
- Clearly articulate and structure business insights and analytical findings across prospect and customer domains for senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Maintain an external perspective by staying informed about emerging trends and developments in finance, payments, analytics, and related domains.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Hold an MBA or a Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Possess 0–30 months of experience in analytics or big data–driven workstreams, with the ability to deliver projects that achieve measurable business outcomes.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Exhibit strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Be an innovative problem solver with the ability to learn quickly and work independently on complex, unstructured initiatives.
- Show the capability to integrate and collaborate with cross-functional business partners across global teams.
- Have hands-on experience with analytical and programming tools such as SAS, R, Python, Hive, Spark, and SQL.
- Possess a strong understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, including active learning, transfer learning, neural networks, decision trees, reinforcement learning, graphical models, Gaussian processes, Bayesian models, MapReduce techniques, and feature/attribute engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrate expertise in coding, algorithms, and high-performance computing.
