Key Responsibilities:
1. Test Products Development / Test Tools Development
- Ideate and implement innovative approaches to build scalable and reusable test automation frameworks and new test infrastructure.
- Improve existing test infrastructure to enhance efficiency and productivity in test case generation, test coverage, test execution, problem detection, and reporting.
- Demonstrate strong programming skills and actively code using mainframe-based programming languages (such as REXX, Assembler), open-source object-oriented languages, web technologies, microservices, databases (e.g., IBM DB2), and SQL queries, based on departmental requirements.
- Contribute to all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) during test tools and test automation development.
- Explore and utilize API testing tools (e.g., SOA Suite, SOAP UI, Postman, REST Client), Selenium or similar frameworks, automation tools (e.g., TestNG, Cucumber, JSON/XML parsers), CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins), version control (e.g., GitHub), and project management tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Apply industry-standard coding practices, design patterns, testing techniques, and best practices across all development and testing activities.
- Proactively assess emerging technologies and evaluate their adoption within the organization by conducting proof-of-concepts (POCs) to ensure alignment with business requirements.
2. Mainframe Testing / Manual Testing
- Contribute to all phases of the Software Test Life Cycle (STLC) by designing and developing comprehensive test plans, test designs, and test cases from business requirements and conceptual documents to validate Visa’s products and services.
- Execute tests manually and using in-house tools and automation suites on mainframe virtual machines (VMs), desktop, and web servers to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with Development, System Architecture, and Product teams in both Waterfall and Agile environments to address coding errors and design gaps.
- Analyze and report test results clearly to project stakeholders, ensuring prompt resolution of issues. Provide regular project status updates, highlight risks and issues, and propose solutions to Project Managers and Test Engineering (TE) Management.
- Adhere to standard processes, tools, and metrics to deliver large-scale projects that meet defined business objectives from inception to completion.
- Coordinate and support integration and end-to-end testing efforts with peer Test Engineering groups to enable seamless code releases.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A B.E. / B.Tech. degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or an equivalent technical discipline is required; a Master’s degree in Engineering is a plus.
- 6 to 18 months of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of work and project experience, is expected.
- Working experience in z/TPF (mainframe) and application development using REXX will be considered an added advantage.
- Proficiency in at least one open-source object-oriented programming language or technology is required, including but not limited to C/C++, C#, .NET, Java, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other web technologies.
- Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Test Life Cycle (STLC), along with knowledge of development and test engineering processes and methodologies.
- Candidates with knowledge of ISO 8583 messaging standards, SOAP/XML, and JSON message formats will be preferred.
- Demonstrate passion for quality engineering to achieve excellence in products and services.
- Exhibit a high degree of self-motivation and resourcefulness, with the ability to tackle challenges and solve problems proactively.
- Possess strong collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders, technical leads, and team members across local and global teams.
