Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct model validation of CIB Finance models, including evaluating the conceptual soundness of model specifications and assessing the appropriateness of methodologies for their intended purposes.
  • Review the reasonableness of assumptions, the reliability of inputs, and assess model limitations to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Evaluate the completeness of testing performed to verify the correctness of model implementation.
  • Perform ongoing performance monitoring tests to ensure that model performance remains acceptable and fit for purpose.
  • Assist with model governance activities, including maintaining the model inventory, managing issues, and supporting related governance processes.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc tasks, special projects, and new initiatives as required.
  • Collaborate closely with model developers and control functions across the firm to gain a deep understanding of methodologies and usage, and to promote transparency around model controls, limitations, and performance.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Possess experience at the Analyst or Associate level in the banking or financial services industry, with a strong understanding of econometric modelling; prior experience in model validation and governance is preferred.
  • Hold an advanced degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Demonstrate strong writing, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Exhibit strong quantitative and analytical abilities, with a passion for independent research and problem-solving.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, and collaborate effectively across multiple teams and functions.
  • Be a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Display a strong risk and control mindset, with a keen eye for detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Have knowledge of and interest in Python programming.
  • Bring experience in financial products, markets, and regulatory stress testing (e.g., CCAR or ICAAP).
