Key Responsibilities:
- Work with large and complex data sets to address open-ended, high-impact business problems using data mining, experimentation, statistical analysis, and machine learning techniques as needed.
- Develop and apply a strong understanding of the business and product to derive insights, build hypotheses, and validate them using rigorous methodologies, or formulate problems for machine learning modeling.
- Apply excellent problem-solving skills to independently scope, break down, and design solutions from first principles, incorporating an outside-in and state-of-the-art perspective.
- Collaborate closely throughout the product life cycle, including ideation, reviewing Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), defining success criteria, instrumenting product features, assessing impact, and recommending enhancements.
- Accelerate root cause analysis and insight generation for recurring use cases through automation and self-serve platforms.
- Develop and present compelling business insights and narratives that align with the organization’s strategic goals.
- Partner with Business, Product, and Data Engineering teams to continuously improve data accuracy by providing feedback and scoping instrumentation quality and completeness.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in analytics and data science, delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
- Ability to define business and product metrics, collaborate with engineering teams on data instrumentation, and create automated self-serve dashboards using tools such as Tableau, QlikView, or Looker.
- Skilled in structuring and analyzing data using techniques such as Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), cohort analysis, and funnel analysis, and translating findings into actionable recommendations that can be effectively communicated across the organization.
- Hands-on experience working with large-scale structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, including preprocessing, cleansing, and applying dimensionality reduction techniques.
- Prior experience in consumer-tech organizations is an added advantage.
- Strong ability to understand both qualitative and quantitative aspects of products or strategic initiatives, and leverage this understanding to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Working knowledge of A/B testing, significance testing, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, web analytics, and statistical learning techniques.
