Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of a portfolio of merchants, managing end-to-end oversight of loss and decline rates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies aimed at fraud prevention, minimizing losses, and optimizing transaction decline rates to reduce customer friction.
  • Work closely with various departments to deliver data-driven solutions and provide risk analytics related to frustration trends, key performance indicators (KPIs), and real-time fraud alerts.
  • Implement solutions that leverage PayPal’s advanced proprietary fraud prevention tools to support business growth and enhance security.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience working with large-scale, complex datasets.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to break down business requirements into structured analytical plans and execute them effectively to answer key business questions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical teams (engineers) and business stakeholders (leaders).
  • Demonstrated passion for building innovative solutions and tackling large, ambiguous, and high-impact problems.
  • Proficient in tools and languages such as Excel, SQL, and Python or R.
  • Strong technical skills in exploratory data analysis and data preparation, including the ability to clean and structure data for modeling purposes.
  • Hands-on experience applying AI/ML techniques for business decision-making, including both supervised and unsupervised learning methods (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, decision trees, anomaly detection).
  • Solid understanding of model evaluation metrics such as Precision, Recall, and ROC-AUC Curve, along with foundational statistical concepts.
