Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues related to Ubuntu, Kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other open-source software.
- Collaborate closely with Canonical’s Field, Support, and Product Engineering teams to ensure seamless issue resolution.
- Actively participate in upstream communities to contribute to open-source development.
- Develop bug fixes, backport patches, and work with upstream teams to ensure their inclusion in official releases.
- Review and provide feedback on code contributions from other engineers.
- Apply sound technical judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques for problem-solving.
- Effectively prioritize tasks and manage time to meet project deadlines and customer needs.
- Engage in team discussions to enhance processes, tools, and documentation for improved efficiency.
- Maintain clear, concise, and technical communication in both written and verbal formats.
- Work remotely with the flexibility to travel internationally up to 10% of the time for team meetings, events, and conferences.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Strong academic background with a proven track record of excellence.
- Degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with Linux and open-source software.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and tackle complex technical challenges.
- Willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events.
