Key Responsibilities for Analyst – Data Science:
- Develop a deep understanding of AXP’s core business and the key drivers behind strategic decisions.
- Analyze large datasets to extract business insights and generate innovative solutions.
- Utilize the closed-loop capabilities of the Amex network to enhance decision-making with more intelligent and relevant insights.
- Drive innovation by developing new and improved approaches using big data and machine learning solutions.
- Clearly articulate and structure business findings across prospect and customer domains for leadership and key stakeholders.
- Stay informed about industry developments in Finance, Payments, Analytics, and related fields to maintain an external perspective.
Key Responsibilities for Analyst – Data Analytics:
- Develop an effective targeting and personalization strategy for consumer prospect Direct Mail, Pre-Qual, and Bureau-based omnichannel connections.
- Create robust measurement solutions to optimize channel performance effectively.
- Lead the “test and learn” initiative for the direct mail channel.
- Publish periodic performance reports (MIS) and conduct deep dives into changing trends.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute and enhance the direct mail strategy.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Finance, combined with a master’s or other secondary professional qualification.
- MBA or Master’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields.
- 0-3 years of relevant experience in analytics.
- Proven ability to drive project deliverables and achieve business outcomes.
- Strong team player with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Innovative problem solver with the ability to quickly learn and work independently on complex, unstructured initiatives.
- Ability to integrate and collaborate with cross-functional business partners globally.
- Proficiency in SAS, R, Python, Hive, Spark, and SQL.
- Familiarity with unsupervised and supervised techniques such as active learning, transfer learning, neural models, decision trees, reinforcement learning, graphical models, Gaussian processes, Bayesian models, MapReduce techniques, and feature engineering.
Preferred skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with programming languages such as Hive, SQL, SAS, and Python.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
