Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with IT, Information Security, and Technology teams to drive impactful changes across the organization.
- Ensure the potential impact of infrastructure and software deployment changes is well understood, using data to assess upstream and downstream dependencies.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to conduct end-to-end testing and performance analysis for real-time data applications, solving issues, identifying opportunities, and driving initiatives to completion.
- Prepare and obtain approval for system and programming documentation.
- Recommend changes in development, maintenance, and system standards, and train users during system conversion and implementation.
- Possess basic knowledge of data center components like servers, storage, networks, and load balancers.
- Understand various operating systems, virtualization, networking, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Have a basic understanding of RDBMS, server infrastructure, or SaaS applications.
- Proficient in at least one scripting language (preferably PowerShell).
- Knowledgeable about basic networking concepts and the OSI model.
- Understand switching and routing protocols like EIGRP, BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, HSRP, LACP, SSO, RPR, as well as VLAN, STP, RSTP, and MST protocols.
- Familiar with TCP/IP and network connectivity troubleshooting.
- Install, configure, support, and maintain operational tools and procedures.
- Handle alerts and tasks using tools such as HP NNMI, Cisco Prime, NetScout, Livenx, and NetBrain monitoring tools.
- Create tickets for critical alerts and update them with relevant information.
- Follow documented procedures and coordinate with the TechOps team for clarifications.
- Demonstrate strong research, investigation, and evaluation skills with a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Work with customers to gather requirements, propose solutions, and provision infrastructure.
- Provide day-to-day support for automation tools, including in-house solutions, release automation, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools.
- Execute projects within deadlines while maintaining OLA and SLA agreements with other business units.
- Perform environment changes according to RFC schedules and planning.
- Understand and be willing to learn IT Service Management processes.
- Adapt to new technologies to improve operations support.
- Learn monitoring tools and triage issues based on the problem faced.
- Exhibit strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) along with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts in a 24×7 environment, including weekend on-call support, ensuring 24x7x365 infrastructure availability.
- Shadow senior team members, ask questions, and assist where possible.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for learning new technologies and a hardworking attitude.
- Participate in meetings, attend workshops, and engage in other training opportunities.
- Take ownership and accountability for the environment you manage.
- Handle customer interactions and work with cross-functional teams via voice, email, or chat effectively.
