Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end engineering solutions for Machine Learning initiatives at scale.
- Incorporate data science methodologies into tangible product development.
- Develop efficient and high-quality code capable of functioning at Wal-Mart’s scale.
- Operationalize ML models, addressing all challenges associated with model management.
- Implement parallelization techniques for algorithm and model training, leveraging distributed infrastructure to significantly reduce training time.
- Uphold Wal-Mart’s quality standards and establish process standards and best practices within the retail industry.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, researching, learning, and adapting to solve challenges and enhance existing solutions.
- Engage in events aimed at fostering innovation and developing novel solutions.
- Conceptualize, construct, test, and deploy innovative solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers globally while leveraging Walmart’s extensive data resources.
- Collaborate with data science teams across Walmart to understand their engineering obstacles and propose effective solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate open-source tools for product feature delivery through research, proof-of-concept, and engagement with open-source communities.
- Deploy and oversee product performance on Cloud platforms.
- Advocate for and uphold company policies, procedures, mission, values, and ethical standards.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree with 0-2 years of applicable experience.
- Proficient in analyzing complex problems and translating them into data science algorithms.
- Demonstrated expertise in various core Machine Learning areas including Forecasting, Classification, Data/Text Mining, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Decision Trees, Adaptive Decision Algorithms, Random Forest, Search Algorithms, Neural Networks, and Deep Learning Algorithms.
- Skilled in statistical learning encompassing Predictive & Prescriptive Analytics, Web Analytics, Parametric and Non-parametric models, Regression, Time Series Analysis, Dynamic/Causal Modeling, Statistical Learning, and Guided Decisions, as well as Topic Modeling.
- Experienced in big data analytics, adept at identifying trends, patterns, and outliers within extensive datasets.
- Proficient in either Python or R programming languages.
- Proficient in big data platforms such as Hadoop (including Hive, Pig, MapReduce, HQL, Scala).
- Familiarity with Teradata, SQL, relational databases, and data warehousing concepts.
Preferred skills:
- Possess domain knowledge in one or more divisions within the retail sector.
- Have authored publications or delivered presentations in prominent academic and research journals.
- Have authored publications or delivered presentations in forums related to Data Science.
- Hold patents related to data science innovations.
- Possess experience with data warehouse platforms, particularly NoSQL databases such as Cassandra.
- Have experience utilizing GPU/CUDA for enhanced computational efficiency.
