Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with one of Uber’s product teams, engaging in a project alongside fellow designers and researchers.
- Engage in the dynamic process of designing for millions of users, with the opportunity to share insights and contribute novel perspectives.
- Immerse yourself in the culture of prototyping at Uber, staying abreast of cutting-edge prototyping tools. Throughout your internship, you’ll experiment with various levels of fidelity prototypes, gaining proficiency in emerging tools and trends.
- Participate in the refinement of product details within a cross-functional product team, gaining exposure to release cycles and understanding the nuances of each stage in the product development lifecycle.
- Implement Uber’s design system while adapting the framework to address evolving use cases and challenges.
- Present your design work to the broader Design Team, receiving valuable feedback and leaving with compelling portfolio pieces.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s/Master’s program with an expected graduation date in 2025.
- Possess intermediate conversational English skills with confidence in reading and writing, with a willingness to further develop proficiency in the English language.
- Available to commence work in July 2024 or earlier, committed to a 6-month duration.
- Showcase a growing portfolio with standout projects, including at least one demonstrating the ability to create high-quality UI/UX, which may encompass academic assignments, hackathons, design competitions, or publications.
Preferred skills:
- Stay updated with the latest applications and design trends across various platforms (mobile, web, desktop), and contribute ideas for enhancing them.
- Demonstrate proficiency in areas such as motion graphics, iconography, UX system flows, modern UI visuals, design engineering, prototyping, and tool design.
- Demonstrate a history of delivering exceptional design work and possess an understanding of critical details at each stage of the release cycle.
- Have experience in end-to-end product design encompassing both UI and UX aspects.
- Present a portfolio featuring high-quality, thoughtful UI and UX projects.
