Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Develops basic features and components of hardware designs in line with product proposals or roadmaps, under the supervision of more experienced engineers.
• With minimal supervision from more experienced engineers, applies basic design rules and processes for electronic hardware, equipment, and/or integrated circuitry.
• With minimal guidance from more experienced engineers, reads device specification sheets and interprets basic details required to design various hardware features.
• Evaluates and documents device performance under a variety of operating conditions and configurations.
• Under the supervision of more experienced engineers, assists in the assessment of common design features to identify potential flaws (e.g., electrical, mechanical, hardware), compatibility issues, and/or compliance issues.
• Documents basic details about a device’s materials, components, chipsets, and assemblies, as well as important design changes with minimal supervision from more experienced engineers.
• Troubleshoots basic product design issues.
• Provides a reasonable schedule for personal tasks to the project manager.
• Develops understanding of Qualcomm products.
• From publicly available information, seeks basic knowledge of industry trends, competitor products, and advances in various engineering fields; requires minimal consultation with more experienced engineers to understand and apply advanced concepts.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Develops design implementation, analysis, methodology, flows, and automation for System on Chip, electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, and packaging development and validation.
• Design solutions are provided to evaluate, characterise, and develop design implementation solutions for cutting-edge products in the most advanced processes.
• Interacts with various cross-functional teams (RF, Analog, and Digital IC designers, Software, System Engineering, Test Engineers, Customer Engineering, and Operations) to drive and incorporate the most recent design solutions into the production programme in order to improve yield, productivity, and quality.
• Accepting responsibility for one’s own work and making decisions with limited ramifications; Decisions have a clear impact; errors typically only affect timelines (i.e., require additional time to correct).
• Using verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information about day-to-day activities to others who are well-versed in the subject.
• Most tasks require multiple steps that can be completed in any order; some planning and prioritisation is required to complete the tasks effectively; mistakes may necessitate some rework.
• Using your imagination to solve technical problems or deal with unusual situations.
• Deductive problem solving is used to solve moderately complex problems; most problems have defined diagnostic/detection processes; some limited data analysis may be required. 

Eligibility Criteria:

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a closely related field is required.

Preferred skills:

• 1+ year of circuit design experience (e.g., digital, analog, RF).
• 1 year or more of experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation software.
• 1+ year of experience with hardware design and measurement tools like oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools, and so on.
