Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a highly skilled team of engineers and researchers to drive innovation in wireless technologies and ecosystems.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative products and solutions for wireless devices used by millions of customers worldwide.
- Research, design, and develop AI/ML-driven solutions for cellular technologies and wireless communication systems.
- Identify and address complex real-world customer problems across iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and other wireless product lines.
- Develop and optimize core cellular software technologies to enhance connectivity, performance, and user experience.
- Explore innovative approaches to solving complex challenges within the cellular technology ecosystem.
- Conduct AI/ML research and develop prototypes to evaluate new concepts and technologies.
- Translate research findings and innovative ideas into practical software solutions for next-generation wireless products.
- Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and cross-functional teams to design, implement, and validate new technologies.
- Analyze complex technical challenges and develop scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions.
- Stay current with advancements in AI/ML, cellular technologies, wireless communication, and related research areas.
- Contribute to the development of next-generation cellular technologies that improve connectivity and enable seamless wireless experiences.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Currently pursuing a PhD in AI/ML, Computer Science, Communication Engineering, or a related field, with at least two years of study completed.
- Strong fundamentals in Machine Learning, Statistics, and Optimization, along with strong programming skills in Python and JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of software development concepts, algorithms, data structures, operating systems, and software engineering practices.
- Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Transformers, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or AI Agents is desirable.
- Exposure to vector databases, Model Context Protocol (MCP), tool calling, or agentic AI is an added advantage.
- Ability to read, understand, and implement concepts and methodologies from AI/ML research papers.
- Ability to analyze model failures and improve model performance, robustness, and generalization.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, technical communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in developing, training, and evaluating machine learning models using real-world datasets.
- Ability to formulate machine learning problems from ambiguous engineering challenges and apply appropriate evaluation and experimental methodologies.
- Experience with time-series analysis, anomaly detection, clustering, or predictive modeling is desirable.
- Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra, probability, statistics, and optimization.
- Understanding of wireless communication concepts is an added advantage.
- Strong research mindset with the curiosity and ability to explore novel AI/ML approaches.
- Ability to translate research concepts and ideas into functional prototypes and practical solutions.
