Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Azure Databricks using Apache Spark and Python for both batch and real-time data processing.
- Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries to support data transformation, aggregation, and analytics workloads.
- Develop and maintain analytics-ready data models, including fact tables, dimension tables, rollups, metric layers, and gold-layer tables for reporting and dashboards.
- Optimize the performance, reliability, and cost efficiency of Databricks workloads by tuning Spark jobs, managing Delta Lake tables, and implementing best practices such as incremental processing, idempotent workflows, MERGE operations, and data partitioning.
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, business analysts, and engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and self-service analytics solutions.
- Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure accurate, consistent, and trustworthy analytics metrics.
- Follow and contribute to data engineering best practices, including version control, code quality, documentation, and development standards.
- Design and develop new features and tools in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, designers, and user researchers.
- Develop solutions that integrate structured and unstructured data, leveraging Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities where applicable.
- Continuously enhance technical expertise while supporting team members through knowledge sharing, constructive feedback, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Contribute to building an inclusive and collaborative team culture that values diversity, innovation, and different perspectives.
- Engage with customers to understand their business workflows, gather requirements, and adapt solutions based on their feedback.
- Work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment within Adobe to deliver innovative and high-quality data engineering solutions.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be based in Bangalore or willing to work from Bangalore.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in software development.
- Strong computer science fundamentals with hands-on experience in Python and working knowledge of Node.js and REST APIs.
- Basic experience with, or a strong interest in, data pipelines and data platforms such as Databricks, Apache Spark, Kafka, or similar technologies.
- Foundational understanding of data modeling and data warehousing, with exposure to relational and columnar databases.
- Working knowledge of AI and Machine Learning concepts, with an interest in integrating ML and Large Language Models (LLMs) into data systems.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Splunk, or Prometheus is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, along with CI/CD pipeline concepts.
- Basic understanding of AWS or Microsoft Azure cloud services and cloud security fundamentals.
- Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies quickly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous learning mindset and a focus on process improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience developing applications for multiple devices and platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with prompt engineering or building data pipelines for Large Language Model (LLM) workflows.
- Possesses a positive attitude and a good sense of humor.
