Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite SME financing applications for FX products and trading facilities by analyzing financial statements, open banking transactions, business models, and relevant data sources.
- Evaluate and balance the risk and reward for each application to support sound credit decision-making.
- Make decisions on FX trading limits and facilities within delegated authority, or present cases to the credit committee for review and approval.
- Support the enhancement of risk underwriting policies for FX exposures and contribute to the development of key risk indicators (KRIs) for credit applications and counterparty exposure monitoring.
- Ensure adherence to credit underwriting KPIs, including service level agreements, approval and decline rates, and limit utilization metrics.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and drive the implementation of process improvements across onboarding, limit management, and margining activities.
- Optimize risk mitigation strategies while minimizing client friction to deliver a positive customer experience.
- Conduct continuous monitoring and validation of credit decisions and FX exposure outcomes, including mark-to-market movements and MIS reporting.
- Lead initiatives to address both preventive and reactive measures in response to micro and macroeconomic factors impacting portfolio credit performance and profitability.
- Ensure compliance and maintain strong ratings for first-line credit risk functions by meeting the expectations of second-line, third-line, and regulatory stakeholders.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Demonstrate strong expertise in credit risk analysis, particularly for FX or treasury-related products.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, or Management from a reputable institution.
- Possess a solid understanding of credit policy governance frameworks, with the ability to effectively operate within second- and third-line risk management structures.
- Have working knowledge of fraud risk management controls and their application in business credit underwriting, FX onboarding, and trading limit approvals.
- Exhibit experience in improving existing or launching new credit products, FX risk features, or trading solutions.
- Maintain a proven track record of delivering high-quality results that consistently exceed expectations.
- Demonstrate the ability to document application assessments and associated exposure risks in a clear, concise, and structured manner.
- Possess strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to process complex information and make well-informed decisions.
Preferred Skills:
- Have knowledge of data analysis tools such as SQL, R, Python, or similar technologies.
- Show a keen interest in learning and adopting new technologies to support business scalability and innovation.
- Hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field, which is considered an added advantage.
