Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a strong working knowledge of firm-wide Independence concepts and policies in accordance with EYG Independence guidelines.
- Execute defined work procedures in line with EYG Independence policies while gaining hands-on experience in research, analysis, and system updates across EY tools and databases.
- Support client-serving and audit teams by ensuring accurate updates to Independence systems, thereby helping mitigate independence-related risks.
- Review submissions and requests received from client-serving teams to assess completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Independence requirements.
- Perform reconciliation, research, and detailed analysis using EY Independence and finance tools to ensure systems are updated with accurate and consistent information.
- Collaborate with project managers and audit or pursuit team members to follow up on pending responses and ensure timely completion of assigned procedures.
Technical Expertise:
- Develop the ability to interpret client company structures, entity attributes, and inter-entity relationships in line with audit client and affiliate definitions under EYG Independence policy.
- Build working knowledge of internal Independence and financial systems and tools used across the firm.
- Understand interdependencies between systems to identify discrepancies and ensure data consistency across platforms.
- Conduct secondary research using both internal and external databases to support Independence assessments.
- Perform reconciliations, research activities, and draft recommendations for review by project managers as part of standard procedures.
- Actively participate in knowledge calibration and training sessions by raising relevant questions and proactively highlighting gaps in process understanding.
- Work towards meeting and exceeding defined individual key performance indicators (KPIs) for the role.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Graduate, Master’s, or Postgraduate degree (preferably in Finance) from a reputed institution.
- Zero to one year of experience in research and analysis within a professional services or similar environment.
- Prior exposure to client interactions is preferred.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, with proficiency in both written and spoken English.
- Basic understanding of company and ownership structures, along with awareness of auditor independence requirements and fundamental risk management concepts.
