Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of software applications that effectively meet client objectives and user requirements.
- Support the design, coding, and maintenance of application components and associated databases.
- Analyze, modify, and enhance existing software applications to improve performance, resolve defects, and ensure compatibility with new hardware platforms.
- Implement detailed instructions to remodel and adapt applications for optimized functionality and performance.
- Assist in identifying and documenting specific client needs and application preferences.
- Support comprehensive application testing to ensure software quality, stability, and freedom from errors or defects.
- Assist with application installation and provide technical guidance and advisory support as required.
- Communicate with internal technical stakeholders to gather information on project constraints, performance requirements, and system interfaces.
- Participate in client consultations during the design phase to understand and refine application requirements.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining software documentation in accordance with company standards, processes, and templates.
- Support participation in software product reviews, team meetings, and related project discussions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support project and organizational objectives.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in programming languages such as Java, Perl, Python, or C++ are preferred.
- Scrum or Project Management certification is preferred.
Skills Required:
- Foundational understanding of computer science principles, including computer programming, application design, and user-centric feature development.
- Strong teamwork skills with a commitment to maintaining team integrity and collaboration.
- High attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate and reliable work.
- Ability to understand, analyze, and troubleshoot system-level functionality.
- Proficiency in developing software using the Java programming language and standard object-oriented libraries.
- Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle and development best practices.
- Developing proficiency in Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum.
- Familiarity with software integrated development environments (IDEs).
- Exposure to multiple programming languages, including but not limited to Java, Perl, Python, and C++.
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to make timely, data-driven decisions that impact cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage client and customer issues in a professional, tactful, and solution-oriented manner.
Required Experience:
- Entry-level or foundational experience in software application engineering, software development, or a related role.
- Basic experience with programming languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, Java, and Python.
- Basic experience working with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Basic project management experience and/or experience working within an Agile development environment.
