Key Responsibilities:
- Perform code reviews, write unit tests, and contribute to architectural planning and refactoring activities.
- Work on fixing bugs and improving overall application performance.
- Design and develop new features and enhancements for the Android platform.
- Mentor interns and provide support to team members as needed.
- Collaborate closely with QA, engineers, product managers, and designers across the company.
- Work with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BE/BTech), Computer Applications (BCA), or Science (BSc) in any discipline.
- At least 1 year of experience in a relevant role.
- Experience working on two or more Android applications in the past.
- Familiarity with Java, Kotlin, Android SDK, and the Android ecosystem.
- Familiarity with Material Design guidelines, common mobile UX patterns, and anti-patterns.
- Experience using common Android libraries such as Retrofit, OkHttp, Picasso, RxJava, Gson, Android Architecture Components, etc.
- Experience with different programming paradigms, especially functional and reactive programming.
- Familiarity with consuming REST APIs and understanding what makes them RESTful.
- Familiarity with Git and continuous integration practices.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming and multi-threading.
- Understanding of advanced Android concepts such as Custom Views, Accessibility Services, and background processing APIs.
- Understanding of different architectural patterns, especially MVVM, and their impact on testability.
- Proficiency in debugging, including identifying memory leaks and performance bottlenecks, and using tools such as ADB and ProGuard.
- Ability to distinguish good design from bad design.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code that other developers can easily work with.
- Having applications published on the Google Play Store is an added advantage.
